Overview:

Graduate Management Aptitude Test is specifically designed for students who wish to pursue their higher studies in Management related courses. The GMAT has four main parts, namely Analytical Writing Assessment, the Verbal Section, the Quantitative section the Integrated Reasoning Section. It is a three and a half to four hour test.

The Analytical Writing Assessment section consists of one 30 minute essay where you have to analyse an Argument.

The Integrated Reasoning section measures your ability of problem solving. It consists of Graphical Interpretation, Two-part Analysis, Table Analysis and Multi-Source Reasoning.

The verbal section measures your ability to read and comprehend written material, reason and evaluate arguments and correct written material to conform to standard written English.

The quantitative section measures your ability to reason quantitatively, solve quantitative problems and interprets graphical data.

Overview:

Graduate Record Examination is a test to assess the thinking ability of a student who is aspiring to pursue a graduate level course. ETS came out with a GRE Revised General Test on Aug 1st 2011. There are two formats available, first and most popular format in India being the Computer-based test and the second and less popular test in India being the Paper-based test. There are three sections and they are Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing.

The Verbal Reasoning measures your ability to understand what you read and how you apply your reasoning skills

The Quantitative Reasoning measures your basic mathematical skills and concepts in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, probability and statistics.

The Analytical Writing tests your focused responses to a given task and your ability to directly respond the given task.

Overview:

IELTS – International English Language Testing System. Is an English proficiency test across the world. It has four sections, Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. IELTS is available in two formats Academic and General.

Academic format is for students who want to pursue studies in a English speaking University. If you are looking for admission for an Undergraduate or Graduate Studies then you will be required to take the Academic Test.

General format is focused on basic survival skills in social and workplace contexts. It is for people who are going to an English speaking country for work, training or secondary education. If you are planning to migrate to Australia, Canada or New Zealand then you must take the General Test.

Overview:

PTE Academic – Pearson Test of English Academic. PTE is the language testing division of Pearson, world’s leading Education and Information Company. Pearson offers a suite of English language tests, PTE Academic, PTE General and PTE Young Learners. PTE Academic is endorsed by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).

PTE Academic is a 3 hour test and measures the listening, reading, speaking and writing skills of test taker from a non-native speaker of English and need to demonstrate their level of academic English proficiency. PTE Academic delivers a real-life measure of test takers language ability to universities, higher education institutions, government departments and organisations requiring academic English.

Overview:

SAT is a standardized test widely used for undergrad admissions in the USA. Since its introduced in 1926, it was called Scholastic Aptitude Test, later changed to Scholastic Assesment Test, then SAT I: Reasoning Test, then SAT Reasoning Test and now SAT.

SAT is owned, developed and published by the College Board, which is a private, not-for-profit orginization in the USA. It is administered by Education Testing Services on behalf of College Board.

Test of English as a Foreign Language is a test designed to assess the ability of an individual who wishes to study in an English speaking country. Since 2005 it is mainly administered as the Internet Based Test (iBT). The TOEFL iBT is the most common format in India. It has four sections, namely Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. The iBT is scored on a scale of 0-120 and the individual sections are on a scale of 0-30.
